Here are some tips on what you need to do before and when you move in.
Report a change of address
If you are moving in order to study at university, you must be registered in the place you are studying. When moving, you must make a transfer notification to the Swedish Tax Agency so that you get the correct registration address. Make your registration in advance or no later than one week after you move.
Change your address at: www.skatteverket.se/studentflytt
The Tax Agency distributes your new address to several authorities and companies, but if you want other mail to be forwarded, you need to order this paid service from Svensk Adressändring: www.adressandring.se or call 0771-97 98 99.
In the change of address you must write your apartment number, a four-digit number that you will find on your rental contract. If you live in an apartment with your own entrance you have no apartment number, you just write your address.
Get the keys
Keys are collected at Studentbostäder’s reception, or by appointment.
When moving in, you must show a proof of your admission form, which shows that you are studying or admitted to education at Dalarna´s University. In connection with the start of the semester, Studentbostäder checks that accommodation students are still inscribed at Högskolan Dalarna
Check your apartment
Make sure that the apartment is ok and clean. The apartment is inspected before moving in, but there may be faults that are not detected. If you discover anything, it is important that you immediately contact us so that problems can be inspected and repaired.
Most of our student housing are furnished with the most essential: bed, desk, chair, lamps and shower curtain. In the larger apartments there is a sofa, coffee table, chest with drawers / shelf, kitchen table and chairs. Textiles such as bedding, quilt and pillow, towels and curtains are not included in the furniture. For more information about furnishing see the respective student house / apartment.
Cleaning and maintenance
You are responsible for taking care of your apartment/room from the day you collect the keys and move in till the day you move out and leave the keys. Most surfaces in your home are durable and easy to clean. You clean most modern materials with a little warm water and mild detergent.
Report errors and pests
Contact us as soon as possible if an error or damage occurs in the apartment, so that the damage does not get worse.
